Orion Wingfield is a Mechanical Engineer at Generation Orbit Launch Services. His primary responsibilities are the design, analysis, integration, and testing of ground and flight hardware. Orion previously worked at Butler America, supporting Sikorsky aircraft as a stress analysis engineer. At Butler, he supported static and fatigue analysis for metallic and composite airframe structures, gained experience with FEM and classical stress analysis, stress-spectrum algorithm methods, fatigue damage, and expected life calculation. His scope of work focused on helicopter structures with additional experience in fixed-wing and maintenance/inspection programs. Orion holds a Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering from Purdue University and a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
