Tasks include design, analysis, manufacturing, integration, and test. The position is full-time and will be located at our facilities in Atlanta, GA. Position Summary

The Propulsion Engineer will work within a small team of engineers and entrepreneurs on the design, development, testing, and evaluation of the GO1 Rocket Vehicle. Specific emphasis will be placed on design, manufacture, integration and test of pressurized structures, cryogenic systems, propellant feed systems, and pressurization systems be used in near-term flight test programs. The successful candidate must be experienced in the design of flight hardware with knowledge of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and dynamic environments. The position will span a broad range of product life cycle development from concept development to flight test of prototype hardware to manufacturing and commercial operations. Interactions with external suppliers and customers will require the engineer to have excellent written and verbal communications skills.

 

Responsibilities

  • Design, analysis, manufacture, integration and test of launch vehicle pressure vessels
  • Design, analysis, manufacture, integration and test of propulsion system components including propellant feedlines, valves, insulation, and seals
  • Support mechanical, electrical, and fluid integration of vehicle propulsion subsystems including liquid rocket engine, propellant tanks, and pressurization systems
  • Develop and execute test procedures for verification and validation of systems and components including qualification and acceptance testing

 

Qualifications

  • BS/MS degree in AE, ME, or similar
  • Experience in lightweight pressure vessel design, analysis, manufacturing, integration, and qualification
  • Experience in liquid rocket engine or propulsive stage testing
  • Fundamental understanding of dynamic environments including shock, vibration, and acoustic loads
  • Proficiency in computer aided design tools such as Solid Edge, Unigraphics NX, Solid Works, CATIA, and/or PTC Creo
  • Proficiency in finite element modeling and optimization including tools such as ANSYS, FEMAP, NASTRAN, and/or Abaqus
  • Proficiency in computational modeling of internal flows utilizing tools such as OpenFOAM, Star-CCM+, and/or ANSYS-Fluent
  • Proficiency with fluid network modeling including tools such as GFSSP

Position Summary

The Lead Mission Manager will work within a small team of engineers and entrepreneurs on the licensing, certification, and operations of the GO1 launch system. Specific emphasis will be placed on mission analysis, licensing, certification, safety, and operations for near-term flight test programs. The successful candidate must be experienced in the multiple R&D and operational flight programs, FAA licensing regimes, and DoD flight vehicle certification. Interactions with external agencies and customers will require the engineer to have excellent written and verbal communications skills.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop an intimate knowledge of GO1 system and subsystems including capabilities, performance, and interfaces
  • Lead FAA/AST launch license application preparation, submission, and review support
  • Lead DoD launch vehicle certification efforts in support of flight test applications
  • Lead system-level failure modes, effects, and cause analysis (FMECA)
  • Lead company-wide safety process development, implementation, and maintenance
  • Foster and manage customer relationships including requirements definition for payload, mission, and operations; schedule management; and support of technical interchanges
  • Manage mission-specific interface control documents (ICDs)

Specific emphasis will be placed on managing elements of IT infrastructure including network systems, workstations, and phone systems. Further, the candidate will be responsible for implementing information security processes and procedures designed to safeguard corporate data and IT systems. Finally, the candidate will work directly with staff across the organization to develop, deploy, and manage enterprise software systems including commercial products (JIRA, Confluence, GIT, SVN) along with in-house developed tools. The position will support a broad range of tasks from hardware specification and deployment to software development and testing. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement IT practices and policies to support efficient operations while maintaining availability and security
  • Deploy, configure, and manage all IT infrastructure elements including Linux servers, Windows workstations, VoIP phone systems, firewalls, switches, wireless access points, printers, and A/V equipment

Description

Generation Orbit Launch Services, Inc. (GO), is seeking an experienced Propulsion Technician to support integration and testing of launch vehicle propulsion systems. The Propulsion Technician will work within a small team to support the integration and testing of small launch products, including GO1. The position entails intricate hands-on work with fluid aspects of launch vehicle systems, as well as writing and executing work orders related to integration and testing of launch vehicle propulsion components and integrated assemblies. The position demands the utmost accountability, judgment, and ownership of responsibility.  The position is full-time and is located at our facilities in Atlanta, GA. A competitive compensation package will be provided. This position is available to US citizens or permanent residents only.

Responsibilities

  • Integration and testing of fluid system components (valves, manifolds, regulators, orifices, tubing, etc.)
  • Tube bending
  • Leak checking
  • Interface with engineers to develop and execute work orders
  • Provide feedback on integration and test to improve processes and designs
  • Inspect and test manufactured components and subassemblies
  • Manage component inventory
  • Supporting acceptance and qualification testing

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 2 years of work experience in the aerospace industry (launch vehicles, aviation, satellite)
  • Familiarity with quality assurance practices for high-reliability systems (aerospace, automotive, etc.)
  • Experience with cryogenic fluid systems (liquid oxygen, liquid nitrogen)
  • Ability and willingness to succeed in a intellectually challenging, fast-paced, commercially-driven product development environment
  • Proactive problem solving skills
  • Comfortable working in open, collaborative environment
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Associates degree
  • A&P license
  • Familiarity with fluid measurement instrumentation (pressure transducers, thermocouples, etc.)
  • Experience with cryogenic fluids, insulation, and vacuum equipment
  • Experience with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Tasks include design, analysis, manufacturing, integration, and test. The position is full-time and will be located at our facilities in Atlanta, GA. Position Summary

The Electrical Engineer will work within a small team of engineers and entrepreneurs on the design, development, testing, and evaluation of the GO1 Rocket Vehicle. Specific emphasis will be placed on design, development, testing, and evaluation of embedded systems for small launch vehicles, specifically focused on near-term ground and flight test programs. The successful candidate must be experienced in the design and integration of microcontrollers, printed circuit boards, power management and distribution, and embedded software development. The position will span a broad range of product life cycle development from concept development to flight test of prototype hardware to manufacturing and commercial operations. Interactions with external suppliers and customers will require the engineer to have excellent written and verbal communications skills.

 

Responsibilities

  • Design and analysis of analog, digital, and mixed circuits for power, communications, command & control, and propulsion subsystems
  • Integration and test of in-house and vendor avionics and electromechanical components and subassemblies
  • Development, implementation, and documentation of verification & validation plans, test procedures and test automation processes
  • Design and develop routing schematics and wiring harnesses for ground and flight testing

 

Qualifications

  • BS/MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar
  • Experience with electronics design, integration, and test
  • Experience debugging and troubleshooting electronics hardware
  • Experience with electronics test, instrumentation, and data acquisition equipment (multimeter, oscilloscope, function generator, logic analyzer, etc.)
  • Understanding of EMI, grounding, and semiconductor physics
  • Software development and programming skills in multiple software languages including C/C++, Python, and Matlab
  • Demonstrated understanding of launch vehicle, aircraft, and spacecraft subsystems including electrical power, communications, command & control, GN&C, and propulsion
  • Ability and willingness to succeed in a intellectually challenging, fast-paced, commercially-driven product development environment
  • Comfortable working in open, collaborative environment
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills

 

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 2-4+ years of relevant work experience with high-reliability systems including launch vehicle, aircraft, UAV, or spacecraft
  • Analog circuit, digital circuit, FPGA, and PCBA design and manufacturing

  • Development, implementation, and integration of communication protocols (Ethernet, Mil-Std 1553, ARINC-429, and serial (RS-232|422|423|485))
  • Definition and management of interfaces across both in-house and third-party software elements
  • Development, implementation, and documentation of verification & validation plans, test procedures and test automation processes including software-in-the-loop (SITL), hardware-in-the-loop (HITL), and flight test data
